The NIOO is
offering young, talented researchers, tenure-track positions. These staff
members are expected to develop their own line of research within a particular

The
appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum of 6 years. On
completion of 5 years of employment there will be an assessment of performance
based on established criteria. If the outcome of the assessment is positive,
the researcher will be promoted to the rank of senior researcher with tenure.
Tenure-track position for a microbiologist
The
position: The position is part of the department of Microbial Wetland Ecology
that aims at studying the function
of microbial diversity in geochemical cycles. Emphasis is given to the role of
chemolithotrophic microorganisms that play a role in freshwater wetland
environments. The new position will strengthen the present ecological and
ecophysiological lines of research of the department.
Personal profile: The candidate should have a network in the
field of microbial genomics. To be able to study the hidden genetic and
physiological characteristics of individual microbial strains that give rise to
population dynamics and community-level interactions, the candidate should be
experienced in the application of genomics, among which transcriptomics and
proteomics. He / she should also be able to grow defined cultures of
micro-organisms under axenic conditions in batch and continuous cultures. The
candidate must be capable of requiring and supervising externally acquired PhD
students.
You will
need to have the following qualifications:
A salary
dependent on qualifications and work experience from € 3129 gross per month up
to a maximum of € 4868 gross per month (scale 11/12) for a full-time job.
